📖 Sermon Summary: “We Are Here—How Can We Help?” | Luke 9:1–2
This Sunday’s message challenged us deeply on what it really means to build community connections. It’s not about growing our church attendance or making a name for ourselves—it’s about seeing the lost saved and the captives set free by the power of Jesus Christ.
Jesus sent out the twelve with power and authority to proclaim the Kingdom and heal the sick—but not before first giving them that power. Pastor reminded us: We can’t minister without first receiving. True community outreach starts with surrendering to Christ and being empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Many in our community may appear to have it all—nice homes, good jobs, well-behaved kids—but without Jesus, they are just as lost as the addict in the alley. And if we really want to reach them, we must:
✅ Invest in our own spiritual growth and discipleship.
✅ Invite others into authentic, Gospel-centered relationship.
✅ Get Involved—even when it’s messy or uncomfortable.
Our message to our neighbors should be: “We are here—how can we help?” And everything we do—from food outreach to community events—must be rooted in the Gospel.
Jesus didn’t just wait for people to come to Him—He went to them. Will we do the same?
🙏 Let’s be a church that goes, that loves, and that proclaims freedom through Jesus. Because one day, every knee will bow—let’s make sure they know His name now.
